Prerequisite: NVN-50 . Limitation on enrollment: Admission to the full-time or part-time Vocational Nursing Program. Emphasis is on the vocational nursing roles and understanding of the five steps of the nursing process to identify clients' basic human needs that require nursing intervention. Problem solving skills are explored in relation to the nursing process. The therapeutic communication process is studied in relationship to the nursing process, with beginning application to clients in various stages of the life cycle. Review of the Riverside Community College Vocation Nursing Program philosophy and conceptual framework. 18 hours lecture.
