UC, CSU Prerequisite: None. Advisory: Concurrent or previous enrollment in OCE-1, especially for transfer students. An optional laboratory science course. Emphasis on laboratory techniques, student experimentation, and laboratory demonstrations. The laboratory experiments cover the physical, chemical, biological, and geological processes which are found in the oceans. Such topics include: marine sediments-types and distribution; ocean bathymetry; salinity determination; and dynamic topography, waves and tides. 54 hours laboratory.
