UC, CSU ( CAN JAPN 8) Prerequisite: JPN-2. Development of intermediate skills in listening, reading, speaking and writing. A continued emphasis on acquisition of vocabulary, structures and grammatical patterns necessary for comprehension of standard spoken and written Japanese at the intermediate level. This course includes an expanded discussion of Japanese culture and daily life. 90 hours lecture and 18 hours laboratory.
