Prerequisite: None. Advisory: Qualification for or enrollment in ESL-53 or higher. Provides students with basic instruction and practice in using phrases and clauses to write well-structured sentences. Enhances the students' competence in identifying types of phrases and clauses in English and in using proper punctuation with compound and complex sentence structures. May be taken a total of four times. 18 hours lecture. (Nondegree credit course. Pass/No Pass only.)
