UC, CSU ( CAN ENGR 4) Prerequisite: CHE-1A and either PHY-2A or 4A. Structural properties and adaptability of various materials. Study of materials based on the atomic, molecular and crystalline structures with their relevance to engineering. The materials covered will include metals, polymers, ceramics, semiconductors and composites. Occasional field trips will be taken. 36 hours lecture.
