CSU Prerequisite: None. Corequisite: DEH-10B. Limitation on enrollment: Enrollment in the Dental Hygiene Program. This course is designed to meet the state and national accreditation requirements for an approved Dental Hygiene Program. The student will be introduced to the theory, concepts, techniques, and drugs utilized in dentistry to achieve adequate pain control through local anesthesia and nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation. Students practice local anesthesia injections and administer nitrous oxide/oxygen on classmates. 25 hours lecture and 36 hours laboratory.
