Prerequisite: None. An introduction to Cosmetology level I basics in professional ethics, hygiene, professional image and personality growth and development. California State Board of Cosmetology Rules and Regulations are introduced at this level. Theory subjects include: bacteriology, sanitation and disinfection, trichology, and safety with hazardous chemicals. Instruction in basic techniques and manipulative skills include: hair cutting, permanent waving, hair color, press and curl, and manicure. May be taken a total of two times. 108 hours lecture and 222 hours laboratory.
