Prerequisite: AUT-71 or AUT-40. Limitation on enrollment: Sponsorship by a Ford, Lincoln/Mercury, or Mazda dealership, or approved Ford repair facility. This course presents the fundamentals of manual transmission, transaxle, transfer case, differential, and driveline operation, and repair. The course introduces the concepts of disassembly, inspection, measurement, and reassembly, as well as the diagnosis of concerns with transmissions, transaxles, transfer cases, clutches, all wheel drive systems, drivelines, and differentials. 54 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
