Prerequisite: None. Limitation on enrollment: Sponsorship by a General Motors dealership or approved GM repair facility required. This course presents the operation, diagnosis and repair of GM automotive brake, steering and suspension systems to include mechanical and hydraulic brake service as well as suspension and steering system service and alignment. Course covers components and operation of each system and the functional relationships between the systems in GM Motor cars and light trucks. wheel alignment service and tire balancing will also be covered. Emphasis will be placed on the diagnosis of brake system concerns, as well as the diagnosis of steering and suspension system performance concerns using GM-approved and recommended testing methods and equipment. 54 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
