UC, CSU ( CAN ART 14) Prerequisite: None. An introduction to the fundamentals of two-dimensional design. The organization of visual elements (line, shape, space, value, texture and color) according to the principles of design. Emphasis placed on visual perception, theory, dexterity, problem solving, analysis, application, skill and presentation. Students pay for their own materials. 36 hours lecture and 72 hours laboratory.
