Prerequisite: None. Limitation on enrollment: Must be a sworn peace officer. This course will provide the student with an historical perspective of laws covering persons driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs. The course will introduce the student to DUI statistics, enforcement techniques, handling DUI related traffic collisions and common field sobriety testing techniques. Additionally, DUI reporting techniques and issues related to case law will be covered. 20 hours lecture and 4 hours laboratory.
