UC, CSU Prerequisite: AML-3. Further development of intermediate skills toward advanced skills of ASL fluency. An expanded review of ASL vocabulary, syntactical structures and grammatical patterns necessary for comprehension of standard American Sign Language is emphasized. This course also emphasizes aspects of Deaf culture and community through spontaneously generated conversations. There is also an emphasis on watching ASL narratives of varying length at native speed as a means of enhancing advanced ASL receptive skills. 72 hours lecture and 18 hours laboratory.
