Prerequisite: None. Limitation on enrollment: Must be employed as a Community Service Officer for a law enforcement agency or have prior approval from the course coordinator. This course provides an overview of the fundamentals and techniques necessary to perform the position of Community Service Officer. The course will emphasize the practical applications of weapon cleaning and servicing, handcuffing prisoners, transporting inmates, report writing, basic traffic collision report processing, radio communication techniques, evidence processing, courtroom testimony, and civil liability issues. 60 hours lecture and 4 hours laboratory.
