The disciplines of literature and psychology offer unique ways to understand and explain human behavior. This course explores psychological theories and concepts and applies these to literary texts. Student read key texts in psychology, become familiar with important concepts, and critique literature using psychoanalytical methods. Readings include Freud, Jung, classic fairy tales, fiction and drama, along with historical and cultural perspectives on literature and psychology. Class hrs. 3. Prerequisites: ENG 101 Composition & Literature I, PSYCH 101 General Psychology.
