This course explores gender issues in novels, plays, poems, short stories, and essays written by women. Readings are primarily from modern American and British literature, with global literature in translation, along with historical and cultural perspectives. Students read and analyze literary texts, write critical essays, and relate the history and culture of women to the texts. Class hrs. 3. Prerequisites: ENG 101, 102 Composition and Literature I & II.
