This is an intensive problem-solving class with the emphasis on conceptual thinking and development of a professional attitude. Critical thinking provides a foundation in strategy, concept, and design. The class incorporates actual advertising design projects and focuses on the design and structure of the printed page. Using computers, students study the creation and use of grids and other layout devices to explore the integration of typography and visual elements. Prerequisite: ART 2610
