A study of the structure of cells, tissues, and organ systems, their functional interrelationships and control mechanism. Course and laboratory work includes the study of DNA, cells, histology, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous and cardiovascular systems. Laboratory periods provide practical experience in understanding these concepts. Three hours lecture and one three-hour laboratory period per week. Pre-requisite: A minimum grade of "C+" in highschool biology and chemistry, or equivalent within the past five years or a "C+" or better in BIO100 and CHE 100.
