This course introduces the student to pharmacological therapy. The nature and properties of drugs are examined. The administration of medications, dosages, actions, side effects, indications, contraindications and interactions are presented. Emphasis is placed on the importance of patient education concerning medication therapy, with a focus on cardiac pharmacology. Contemporary legal issues in pharmacology are examined. Pre-requisites: BIO 212, CVT 112, CVT 113 Co-requisites: PHY 101, PSY 101
