Description:
This course is designed to provide the student with an orientation to radiography, professional standards, medical terminology, image production I, basic radiation protection and patient care. Additional skills taught are phlebotomy and electrocardiogram techniques. Radiographic procedures I will also be included with emphasis on lecture-laboratory study of Level I competencies. Following classroom activities, students are scheduled for supervised clinical education. The student is assigned to clinical experience two days a week mastering Level I competencies. Along with assisting the radiographer, emphasis is placed on interpersonal communication skills 33 34 with peers, staff, and patients. Pre-requisite: Acceptance into the program. Co-requisites: BIO 211, MAT 140
