A course covering the principles of ultrasound physics and instrumentation, and echocardiography. The student learns the proper use of equipment controls, the best approach for Doppler studies, and two-dimensional studies. The student is introduced to the fundamentals of sound waves, the Doppler effect, transducer basics, interaction of sound and media, recognition of 31 artifacts and safety. Pre-requisites: CVT 114, PHY 101, PSY 101 Co-requisites: CVT 223, CVT 232, REL 101, SOC 101
