Prerequisite: MATH 014 - Arithmetic Mod 2: Proportional Reasoning or appropriate score on the placement test. This is the first of a sequence of four algebra modules designed to provide students with the algebraic skills and concepts necessary for college-level work in mathematics. The course meets for seven weeks and includes a weekly 2-hour lab component. Topics include the real number system, operations with signed numbers, algebraic expressions, solving linear equations and inequalities, and problemsolving strategies.
