Prerequisite: EDUC 212 - Foundations of Education and Sophomore standing: Students must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours before enrolling in this course. This course provides opportunities for the observation, analysis, and guided interaction of the teaching/learning experience within elementary and secondary educational settings. Students are assigned to observe and perform specific teaching duties within a variety of public school settings. Psychological, philosophical and historic educational theories are analyzed in light of current best practices as they occur in contemporary classrooms. Students are required to complete 30 hours of assigned field observation over the course of the semester. NOTE: Once students have registered for this course, they must have a valid criminal records check completed through their local police department. RVCC does not provide this service.
