Prerequisite: CRMJ 101 - Introduction to Criminal Justice. The course examines the entire process of a criminal investigation from preliminary investigation to arrest and trial. The fundamentals of criminal investigation, including investigation responsibilities, identification of physical evidence, marking, packaging and tagging of evidence, and preserving evidence are examined. This course provides a sound method for reconstructing a past event relative to crime based on three major sources of information: people, physical evidence, and records.
