Prerequisite: Permission and Placement by Program Coordinator. The internship allows students to gain real job experience in the biotechnology related industry before their graduation. The intern will be placed in industries involved in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, chemicals, foods, cosmetics or medical devices. Students can do their internship engaged in work ranging from research and development, clinical studies, marketing, quality assurance/quality control or manufacturing. Companies that wish to sponsor an intern will be asked to identify a mentor within the company to whom the intern will report and who will provide a description of the training activities in which the intern will be involved. The intern's activities will be under the direction of the workplace mentor and the Biotechnology Program Coordinator at RVCC.
