Prerequisite: CRMJ 101 - Introduction to Criminal Justice. This course examines the organizational framework, authority structure and major functions of representative police agencies. Analysis is made of the administrative problems of allocating responsibility and support functions. The basics of administering a police organization such as recruitment and selection of personnel, career advancement, training, fiscal and planning operations and auxiliary and staff functions are areas of special comment. This course also explores the impact of socioeconomic, political and technological realities on police organizations.
