Corequisites: CISY 253 - Advanced Computer Networking and CISY 229 - Information Security Fundamentals. This course provides the student with an understanding of the security issues pertaining to the UNIX and Linux operating systems. Hands-on exercises performing actual operating system management reinforces what is learned in the classroom. Students learn how to implement a secure UNIX environment and to monitor and maintain the network to protect from internal and external threats.
