This course introduces graphic reproduction techniques from layout through mechanical processes used to produce a printed product. It covers graphic printing media and their advantages and limitations, including the reasons for selecting a particular printing format. Students execute in-depth work with camera-ready computer layouts, including enlargements and reductions, color separations and trapping, type specification, and stripping. Students use Quark Xpress and Adobe Acrobat software to create solutions to design problems. Prerequisite: APA 122. S
