This course will examine social issues relevant to the female experience. It is an introductory-level course intended to offer students knowledge about Women's Studies as a discipline. It is also designed to encourage students to consider the impact of the social stratification of difference (gender, race, and class) on their own lives and relationships with others. The course emphasizes the experiences of girls and women in the United States, while including global perspectives of women's lives and implications for men.
