Prerequisite: ASL 1140 Intermediate American Sign Language is a continuation of Basic American Sign Language (ASL 1), and sign vocabulary used by the Deaf community. The course will emphasize the history and culture of deafness in America, and the linguistic structure and visual, conceptual vocabulary of ASL. The development of intermediate expressive and receptive conversational Sign Language skills will be an important class objective.
