Prerequisites: HIST 112 or 113. This course covers the history of the German states from the Eighteenth century to the present. Study of the rise of German nationalism, pattern of German unification, and dissolution and reunification of Germany in the Twentieth century provides the focus of this course. Cultural, religious, and gender issues will also be discussed.
