Description:

Prerequisite: Math 111 (grade of “C” or better) and permission of the Education department. This course is designed for early childhood and elementary education majors following the State of South Carolina’s science standards for grades kindergarten through 8th grade. Included is an introduction to the concepts of properties and measurement, motion, sound, electricity, energy, light, atomic structure, nuclear change, and chemical change. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. (Laboratory fee required.) Cross-listed under Physics. (Parent = CHEM)
