Prerequisites: BIOL 220 and 380, and CHEM 117 or 301 (grade of “C” or better). An in-depth study of modern laboratory techniques used in recombinant DNA technology. Emphasis is placed on cloning strategies and nucleic acid detection schemes. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. (Laboratory fee required.) This course cannot be challenged.
