3 Credits Emphasis is on radiographic procedures of the bony thorax, vertebral column, pelvis, and gastrointestinal system; incorporating related pathology and consideration of mobile, surgical, pediatric and geriatric patients. Image intensified fluoroscopic equipment and use of contrast media is included in course content. Special focus on surgical radiography. This course expands upon course content of RAD 1410, to include application of radiation protection, equipment operation and quality control, image production and evaluation, and patient care and education. Prerequisites: RAD 1410, RAD 1500, RAD 1510 and RAD 1530. RAD 1540 and RAD 1580 concurrent. 2 lecture/3 lab hours. (Offered spring only)
