3 Credits This course presents a holistic approach to the care of the childbearing family. Emphasis is on principles and application of theory when using the nursing process in care of patients during all phases of the childbearing cycle. Disorders and diseases affecting the female and male reproductive tract are included. Clinical settings include mother-baby units, labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care, health clinics, and postpartum home visits. Prerequisites: NUR 1020, PSY 2070 completed or concurrent. 15 weeks/1.5 class/4 clinical (12 weeks)/1.5 lab hours.
