5 Credits This course is designed to assist students to meet the health care needs of patients with commonly occurring acute and chronic health disorders. Physiological and psychosocial adaptation, prevention and early detection and self-care will be emphasized with a focus on maintaining a safe, effective care environment and the application of previously learned skills and information. Pharmacological concepts will be integrated throughout the course content. Clinical experiences will be provided in a variety of supervised, structured health care settings. Prerequisites: NUR 1020; PSY 2070 completed or concurrent. 15 weeks/2.5 class/8 clinical/1.5 lab hours.
