3 Credits Designed as an introduction to the field of special education. The course covers the education of exceptional students: historical, philosophical, educational and legal issues; current practices in assessment, diagnosis and teaching. The course is designed for teacher preparation, in-service, and recertification. Prerequisites: Open to all in-service teachers. Undergraduates seeking the Associate of Arts in Teaching must complete EDU 2000 and EDU 2330 prior to enrolling in this course. A.A.T. students should take EDU 2340 at the same time as EDU 2030.
