3 Credits Introduction to art and architecture from the late 19th century to the present. Visual arts from traditional works to conceptual forms, installation, video and performance art are analyzed both in terms of style, technique and philosophy, and their political, social and economic significance. The history and philosophy of the various movements and their relationship to contemporary thought and culture will be explored. Prerequisites: Reading proficiency.
