3 Credits An introduction to basic techniques and theories of painting. Emphasis is on learning the skill of painting and application of materials. Students explore the basic elements of two-dimensional art as a means to create interesting compositions, manipulate space, and develop solid forms. The course is designed for beginners with little or no experience in painting. Proficiency in drawing is beneficial but not critical to successful completion of this course. 6 studio hours.
