Credits: 3 (3-0) Prerequisite(s): Passing score on the college placement test, two years of high school mathematics or MAT 013 or written permission of the department chairperson The first half of a two-semester course designed primarily for liberal arts students and others planning a year's study of college level mathematics. Topics surveyed include inductive reasoning, problem solving, concepts of sets, Venn diagrams and applications, geometry, consumer mathematics, simple and compound interest, installment buying and mortgages.
