Credits: 3 (3-0) Prerequisite(s) or Corequisite(s): CJU 123 Provides a thorough examination of the major issues that correctional institutions must deal with daily as well as the long term effects of decision and policy making. Particular attention given to treatment programs, their uses and limitations. Provides an overview of the past and current status of penal servitude. Explains the lifestyle of the offender in correctional facilities and evaluates efforts to integrate the institutional experience with the post-release life of the inmates.
