This course examines the patterns and evolution of criminal behavior including the impact of social forces on criminality. Topics include a study of the theoretical approaches to criminology as well as an exploration of the criminal justice system including police, courts and correctional institutions. Prerequisite: Placement above or successful completion of ENG 060 (EN 2103) and eligible for ENG 101 (EN 1103). Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment in ENG 075 (EN 2122) or ENG 085 (EN 2131) if CPT reading placement test is between 68 and 75.
