Provides mathematical principles and applications commonly used in science-based technologies. The course makes use of computer spreadsheets to facilitate learning. Topics include: review of arithmetic and basic algebra, dimensional analysis, computer spreadsheets, unit factor label method, significant figures, scientific notation, exponential and logarithmic functions, solution, dilution and pH calculations, graphing including semi-log and log-log graphs, and quality control statistics including linear regression. Prerequisite: BIO 131 (SC 2101) and eligibility for MAT 080 (MA 1104). Intensive Value: Computer Literacy
