Description:
A general statistics course, which includes understanding data, measures of central tendency, measures of variation, binomial distributions, normal distributions, correlation and regression probability and sampling distributions, Central Limit Theoren, confidence intervals, estimates of population parameters and hypotheses testing. Interpretation and data analysis are emphasized. Prerequisite: MAT 100 (MA 1106) or MAT 120 (MA 1135) with a grade C or better, or by placement exam above MAT 100 (MA 1106) and placement above and successful completion of ENG 060 (EN 2103). Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment in ENG 075 (EN 2122) or ENG 085 (EN 2131) if CPT reading placement is between 68 and 75. General Education Electives: Math all programs Intensive Values: Computer Literacy; Written Communication Note: A TI - 83+ or 84+ graphing calculator is required.
