This course is for students with little or no knowledge of the Khmer language. It introduces students to both spoken and written language, with conversational proficiency as the primary goal. The course covers basic grammatical structures and includes intensive oral practice and listening comprehension. The focus of the course is to give the beginning students a practical command of the language enabling them to participate in everyday conversations as well as to read and write at an elementary level. Some aspects of Cambodian culture and history will also be covered during the semester. General Education Elective: Humanities
