This course will provide participants with an overview of the energy utility industry and occupational opportunities. Topics include the history of providing reliable service, regulatory influences, electric/gas energy flow and basic terminology, typical conditions for employment, and career opportunities. The role of alternative energy in the energy utility industry will also be discussed. Prerequisites: Successful completion of or placement out of ENG 060 (EN 2103) or higher placement. Completion of or concurrent enrollment in ENG 071 (EN 1101) or eligible for ENG 101 (EN 1103).
