This course provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts of relational database design and data modeling, using Oracle Entity Relationship Modeling techniques. Students will learn to identify entities, attributes, and relationships, and to create an appropriate Entity Relationship Diagram. Topics will include: constraints, normalization, subtypes, and identification of common data model patterns. This course will help prepare students for the Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) certification path. Prerequisite: CSC 101 (CS 1101), CAP 101 (CA 1101) or permission of instructor.
