Remember. We must remember. That is the single clearest message we have from the literature of the Holocaust. In this course, students will learn about and remember the events surrounding WWII and the Nazi era through the literature: memoirs, diaries, essays, poetry, and histories. Topics such as racism, anti-semitism, homosexuality, genocide, propaganda, heroism, and post-war traumatic stress syndrome will be explored. Although generalities will be drawn, the focus will be on how the Holocaust affected individuals and families. Corequisites: ENG 101 (EN 1103).
