Writing at this level will stress a process approach to essay writing. Reading at this level is designed to ease the transition to content area subjects and will include reading fiction and nonfiction. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ELL 054 (ES 1204), ELL 074 (ES 3114) and ELL 064 (ES 7104) or placement by exam. Intensive Value: Multicultural/Global Awareness; Computer Literacy Note: Upon successful completion of ELL 055 (ES 1205) the student will take ENG 071 (EN 1101): Basic Writing or ENG 070 (EN 1102): Basic Writing for ELL and the appropriate reading course based on the post CPT reading score.
