This course will cover the fundamentals of Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) electricity. Topics include Ohm's law, Watt's Law, Kirchhoff's Laws, voltage and current dividers,Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits, maximum power transfer theorem, superposition, wye-delta transformation, transient behavior of RC and RL circuits, DC and AC voltage and current sources, resistance, conductance, inductance, capacitance, impedance, reactance, admittance, resonance, and transformers. Employability skills such as problem solving, teamwork, communication, and others will be emphasized. 3 hours lecture, 2 hours laboratory. Prerequisite: Successful completion of or concurrent enrollment in TMA 095 (MA 3108). Corequisite: EUT 101 (Introduction to the Energy Industry)
