An exploration of protest and hope found in literature, music, and art throughout the world. We examine art forms such as short stories, poetry, drama, music, paintings, and film which helped to inform, sustain, comfort, and empower during difficult periods of human history. We look at, and listen to, "voices" of dissent,despair, and hope - artistic responses to the Holocaust, China's Cultural Revolution, 9/11, the Cambodian "killing fields", AmericanAbolitionist and Civil Rights Movements, human rights struggles in Latin America, South Africa's apartheid years, and conflicts in the Middle East.
